You can continue to use your software at your own risk...but please keep in mind that a Windows update could cause the software to stop working at any time (if it hasn't already). Protect your investment and do the transition to Panstoria software on your own time.
I still have at least one machine with Storybook and it works just fine.

Croptoberfest in November is just days away!
The to do list seems endless, but I'm so excited to see my customers (aka friends) who have been cropping with me for the past 14 years!
It will be a new venue, that I hope we all like so we can plan to use again on a more frequent basis.
It will be a small crowd, about a dozen, but it will be GREAT.
I'm excited to show off the new CM stuff, give them goodies, provide more info on converting those tapes and videos with family treasures before they deteriorate and just catching up after all this time.

Fun 3 nights on the newest Princess Love Boat
This past weekend my family went on a short 3 night cruise to get away from it all!
I couldn't pass up going on the new (as of May 2014) Regal Princess even though it was just going out to Princess Cays for a day and no other ports.
The official christening was Nov 5th - lots of celebrities and fireworks. We sailed on Nov 6th and enjoyed having some celebrities on board such as the Love Boat cast, Jeraldine Saunders (author of the original book), Charo and Micky Arison (owner of Miami HEAT and CEO of Carnival).

Just make sure your advisor name appears in your account...and signing up directly under Home Office is always an option...and it does sound like they will be communicating to all Advisors at the same time...or so that is how they made it sound.

CM launch date...not exactly end of October
Based on the update today, the launch of the new CM will not be the end of October as originally announced as they are waiting for some important components to be production ready before launching.
Word is that the launch date will be set and published as early as next week - the first week of November.
CM has published a list of former Ahni & Zoe leaders that will welcome Advisors under them, but everyone will be an Advisor...and Advisors will earn commission on just the first level...so signing on under someone is a personal preference.
If you would like to be part of a team, and want to depend on someone to translate and keep you posted on the latest CM changes, then go ahead and sign on under someone who you personally know and trust to provide these qualities and help you in your new business.
It was sad to see how few names were on that list after 27+ years of Creative Memories...

Legacy Republic Launch Meeting and Tour in Santa Clara, CA
Last week I made a very last minute decision to use my remaining vacation days from work and frequent flyer miles on a flight from Florida to California for the official Legacy Republic Launch meeting and tour of the facilities.
I can honestly say it was the best time and money I've ever spent.
The staff at YesVideo/Legacy Republic is awesome. The facilities are efficient and they have the process of video transfer down. Legacy Republic will also be offering an album transfer process. Send in your hardcopy album, they manually convert to digital and future proof it...along with all other media that you might have with precious memories.
The staff at YesVideo really enjoy what they do and most have been there for years...some from day one back in 1999. They have embraced the Legacy Republic concept of having Legacy Makers (consultants) reach even more people to convert that older media into something that can be shared and future proofed.
That old media isn't getting any younger! Videos are magnetic and deteriorate faster than those old movies on reels. They also transfer slides, prints and albums into digital formats. DVDs are burned and sent back with original media as well as uploading the data to the cloud for access via iPad and iPhone apps.
#TBT (throw back thursday) will never be the same again once people start converting their old media.

I promoted to Team Leader this weekend
Go figure. I take a break from doing the photo biz and my little distraction takes me to Team Leader!
I'm now an Origami Owl Team Leader. I have a team of 3 lovely ladies and one of them promoted with me to Team Leader b/c she too had 3 ladies join her team and we all met the group volume requirements.

On the CM side, the new owners are doing surveys and working on the new CM group company. It almost looks like this next version will be the perfect mix of CM and A&Z, but still too soon to tell...

Photo Biz Break
I will never take a break from taking photos, but I'll be taking one from selling photo solution products for a while as I work my other little biz with Origami Owl.
I signed up while there was a wait list to become a designer, got in and now have a great little team of ladies and still welcoming new ones. I'm taking it easy focusing on fundraisers for friends and small stop n shops for friends.
The new lanyards are great and a fun change for teachers/nurses/anyone who wears a badge to work.

Back to School
It's that time of year again!
School is starting and Facebook has made it easy to share all the wonderful 1st day of school photos with everyone...but I sure hope this isn't the ONLY places we can find the photos after the memory cards have been wiped clean, phones lost or permanently damaged or when the PC crashes... We should be printing them and including them in physical albums...or creating lovely 2 page spreads with the photos and all the fun little stories from the first day/week. Before you know, off to college they will go!
On another note, it's like deja vu all over again with the latest news from Ahni & Zoe...

What to do with all that CM Content?
If you have recently found a stash of CDs for CM content for your Storybook Creator software...don't throw it away yet. It still has value even if you are no longer using your digi software.
As long as you have the package (physical file to install) and the activation codes, just import and activate in SB as usual...and the great thing is that if you've upgraded to Panstoria's Artisan, you can still activate and use the content!
If you've lost your package files or only saved the email from CM (which of course now has a broken link) but have your activation #s, Panstoria has a wonderful tool called Art Kit Download Finder ...but please note that not all packages will be available due to license agreements (ie Disney content).
If you'd like to upgrade to Panstoria software, buy some more content or use this cool tool, please support me by using the links on the far right of this blog for content and then scroll to the bottom of the page to the help zone section for more details on the Art Kit Download Finder

Panstoria software
If you are the proud owner of Creative Memories' Memory Manager and/or Storybook Creator software and are having issues with it, you can ask me questions...and depending on your situation, it may be time to bite the bullet and purchase Panstoria's Historian and/or Artisan as replacements.
It's pretty much the same software with a different logo and a few more/less features.
Your MM vault will still open with Historian.
Your shadow or full backups will recover nicely with Historian
Your projects will open fine with Artisan
Your content, the stuff you've spent hundreds of $s on, will work just fine with Artisan
But if CM software is still working for you and you have no plans to upgrade your OS or ditch your current hardware, there's still no rush to go out and buy new software. I can still answer your basic questions but at SOME point I will probably say, you've hit a bug that is addressed in Panstoria's software...it's time to make a purchase.
THE KEY - backup your vault, content, activation codes and projects OFTEN.

Is it time to upgrade your CM software to Panstoria software?
Maybe...at this time it's still a personal choice, but here's some information to help you make an educated choice..
Memory Manager or Historian?
I still have a mix of CM and Panstoria installed, but I do want to support Panstoria as much as possible...if it weren't for them, we wouldn't have options to continue using the software we use and love and continue using the content we spent lots of time and money purchasing and organizing.
If you've decided to take the plunge and go with Panstoria products to replace your CM ones, please be sure to let me know if you need any assistance and be sure to purchase the software using the links on this blog so I receive credit for the sale. You can also decide to become an Affiliate yourself...just click on that link to the right of this text -->
Memory Manager or Historian?
- Memory Manager 3.0 and 4.0 still work just fine if you installed and activated before 12/31/2013
- No further updates are available, so whatever bugs the software has will continue
- Backing up your vault is critical, lose that and you will lose all your pictures and all the tagging, ranking and journaling you may have done in the vault
- An upgrade to the OS or even some Windows updates could force you to reinstall the software, making it unusable after 12/31/2013
- No support is available other than existing knowledge base of former CM Consultants like myself
- Historian just got some new updates, including the Perfectly Clear technology that Memory Manager had and Historian didn't
- Software is just $39.95
- Fully supported by Panstoria and Panstoria Affiliates like myself
- Storybook 3.0 and 4.0 still work just fine if you installed and activated before 12/31/2013
- The last update from Panstoria allows CM software customers to click on the ORDER button and order items through Panstoria Print Shop, just like you did with CM Photo Center before Sep 2013
- Backing up your projects, content and activation codes is critical

More changes for Ahni & Zoe...
Last week Co-Founder of Creative Memories Rhonda Anderson resigned from Ahni & Zoe creating a max exodus of many long time CM leaders.
They are going to Heritage Makers with the promise that the parent company will work with Rhonda to create the CM products everyone loved...the ones Ahni & Zoe chose not to keep or make.
Not sure what is going to happen or when...but I'm staying right where I am.
Sadly...we all just want to preserve photos and stories and have fun with friends while doing it...but some need to really MAKE $ from this business, while others are truly just following their heart.

Ahni & Zoe has surrendered to the request for blank pages and page protectors....for some, a little too late as other alternatives have been found.
I personally found it very difficult to let any of my pages/pp in my current inventory go without knowing that I could replace them.
I can now offer to sell some of my inventory and replace with the products Ahni & Zoe is now selling.

Bundles of pages and page protectors are $29.50. At first glance you might think you are paying a higher premium, but you really aren't. Older packages had 15 pages/pp, these have 16...so the difference is just a few pennies per page protector.
You can also purchase extra packs of page protectors for $10.50. Again 16 per pack. This is great if you've found an extra album or set of pages you didn't take into account in your last page.

2013 Holidays are over and it's time to get serious about working the new business.

Products are limited to a few fast to fabulous albums, coversets with slide in pages for horizontal, vertical or 12x12 papers. Options are limited to assist people in buying and actually completing an album with their photos.
The inawink app isn't available yet...no date on when it will be...but it appears to have some GREAT features for people who don't do anything with photos other than take them.
